Well i think you have a lovely unique way of doing photos no matter what you do . Even if i don't always agree on the concept, the beautiful work you do always makes me stop to admire . It is your choice and no-one else's.
I don't understand why if someone doesn't like your work they bother commenting at all but then again we seem to be sadly living more and more in societies where niceties are going out the window.
I have to say in general i am enlightened by Deviantart as the vast majority of people are so friendly and lovely to know including yourself
I don't think anyone minds constructive criticism done in the right way but for them to be deliberately hurtful towards you just baffles me as you certainly don't deserve criticism such as this.
This is terrible. Instagram-esque, Photoshop abuse, no understanding of composition. A good example of "My photo is no good, maybe if I put enough filters on it no one will notice." This literally hurts my eyes.
I wish I could down-vote your comment. This is terrible, no sense of tact or regard to the feelings of the artist, deliberately hurtful, insensitive, not respectful. A lot of people disagree with you, but that's not the point. You have a right to not to like it, since art is subjective, but to hurt someone's soul and imagination in such a negligent way is another thing, that requires lack of care for your fellow human being and it's not okay.
...unbelievable. So you come here and simply are mean and... what else? Have you offered any advice, have you tried for a real critical opinion? Sure, you're so full of good intentions... oh no, wait a second, you're actually just acting as an arrogant child you obviously still are, someone who have just read a few books about photography and now feels he knows everything and gets to bother others. I'm sorry, your behaviour is ridiculous. I won't repay you the same way and criticize your work. Though, you're forgetting this: Sure, there might be some technical quality, yet when the picture has absolutely no soul, no expression, no meaning, it barely might be called art. In other words, you can be good at taking pictures, yet that itself does not make you an artist. Sure, you don't have to be a director to notice a bad movie - yet you do have to be an arrogant jerk to react like this when you see something YOU yourself don't like. You're far from being an expert, so you could at least avoid making yourself look like a silly boy who's a way too full of himself...
aah, i'm glad we both actually think of him like a ... jerk. it's amazing how heartless and conceited people can sometimes be, right? thank you for writing this... i banned him, to make sure he never comes back.
but thanks, you've just made me laugh. 1. i don't even use instagram. 2. it's a photomanipulation. but i guess you're a very traditional artist, you despise everyone who uses Photoshop. 3. no understanding of composition? are you a theoretical almanac or something? did you make up some photography laws? well, find out i create what my eyes and heart want to see, not what people like you expect to see. 4. photomanipulation*, and maybe you should document a little bit more before being so pointlessly agressive. 5. cool, now you have a great reason to never come back here.
I use photo editing software myself. The difference is I keep the essence of the original photo intact. I appreciate digital darkrooms, but as with everything, it comes best in moderation. I didn't make up photography rules, but the people who landed it as an art form have. And trust me, I didn't intentionally find you, nor will I seek you again. But telling nay-sayers "Go away and leave me alone!" is not conductive to anything. There is logic everywhere, including photography.
Ah, it does. But you don't need to be a director to notice a bad movie.
And looking through your gallery, I can see improvement in mine where you've plateaued long ago and rely on the crutch of over-processing everything to mask the failure of basic concepts and theory of photography. You keep your processed, so-Photoshopped-you-can't-even-tell-it's-photography work. I'll be doing things properly. For future reference, don't use a lighthearted tagline to insult someone. I picked it because I love it.
you've insulted my whole work. i can't call you otherwise. and you must really adore yourself. i'm quite tired of people like you, who come rarely, but when they do, they are worse than evil. i like your comments so much i think i'm gonna share them afterwards.
